I’ve had a wonderful response to my naturally dyed botanical printed recycled garments in the past few months since the launch of my “earth- conscious clothing corner” at markets that I attend.

The clothes I’ve featured are the ones that I’ve been able to source through various op-shops/second-hand stores around the vicinity, combining my eye for linen, silk, woollen or cottons that take well to the “eucalyptus eco-print” technique introduced by India Flint. Since attending her workshop in Bunbury some years ago and continuing to use her books “Eco Colour” and “Second Skin” as reference in my natural dyeing discovery and learning journey, I’m finally at a place where I am able to showcase some of my work with recycled clothing. Time spent in experimentation with various pots as mordants, leaves from local flora as well as protein mordants have produced some great results with printing on cellulose fibres such as cotton and linen as well as the easier to dye silks and woollens.

While most of the garments have been targeted at women, I’ve had enquiries from men wanting a tee-shirt and a singlet or two. Hence, my collection now also includes something for the gent wanting a unique piece of clothing from the south-west. Customers also include travellers and visitors from overseas wanting to take back a part of the south-west of WA and what better than a light-weight garment with local leaf prints from here!

Most of my clothes sell quickly through my markets and as a result I haven’t had time to feature them via my online store. Hopefully, I’ll have the time to upload some pieces in the near future. In the meantime, if you are able to,  drop by my stall and pick up something special for yourself with prices of the garments ranging from $25 upwards.
